Bryans go down

Posted on: July 3, 2008 2:06 pm

I gotta admit these guys are my favorite players on tour and i hate to see them lose.  They didn't lose a serve in four sets but lost 3 sets in tie breakers.  It looks like Bjorkman and Ullyet were motivated by Bjorkmans retirement.  Well the Bryans are both still in the mixed doubles so we will see if they meet in the finals.  Happy fourth of July to one and all

Bryans go down - more about

Not only did the Bryans not lose a serve in the final but they didn't lose a serve the entire tournament.  I guess I can't fault them on their serves.  So how did they lose?  I just viewed the first set of their semi final loss and it looks like Bjorkman and Ullyette played the tiebreak very aggressively and took chances knowing this was their best shot.  The Bryans lost 4 tiebreaks during the tournament 3 came in the semi which was their loss.  They have to think this through.  Playing at this level means you can't wait for the other guy to blow it.  Returning serve against the I formation is the real challenge.  How do you handle it?
